Microsoft Brings Cortana to iOS in the UK with Version 2.0 New Look

Later than Android, Cortana is now available on iOS in the UK. The app has also been updated across regions with the new look that debuted on Android in December.

's iOS is noted for getting apps and updates before other platforms. It's not always the case, of course, but it happens. That has not been the case recently with 's virtual assistant. The iOS version has been lagging behind the version in recent months. Today, Microsoft has caught up with two major announcements.

The first is that Cortana is now available on Apple's mobile platform for customers in the United Kingdom. Secondly, Microsoft has also updated the app with a new design.

Android users have had both of these things since last year. Microsoft announced it would bring Cortana to the UK on both Android and iOS in December. 's platform scored the app shortly after, but iOS users have been left waiting.

It is a similar situation with the redesign. Microsoft introduced a new look for Cortana on Android last year. users can customize the look of the app by tapping the Cortana logo on the homepage. A customization page appears and gives users a choice of 4 UI color choices, purple, black, green, and that Windows-like blue.

Aside from adding color customization, the overhaul introduced a number of other enhancements. The app now comes with full-page answers that look cleaner and present information in a sleeker manner.

Cortana UK Features

If you are in the UK and interesting in getting Cortana, you get the full virtual assistant experience from other platforms.

The features are the app are listed below:

  • Set a reminder on your PC to pick something up at the store and she'll alert you on your phone when you get there.
  • If traffic's a mess and you need to leave early to make that meeting, Cortana's got your back.
  • If you need to find a fast answer or info on a flight or package, just ask.
  • And Cortana is a truly personal assistant who gets to know you better all the time so she can help track the things you're passionate about, like your favorite artist or sports team, and give you smarter recommendations.
