For Office apps, Microsoft has used the Desktop App Converter to bring the suite to the Windows Store. That means users will eventually be able to download apps such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The decision is a part of Microsoft's general plan to move away from Office Mobile apps on Windows 10. For Android and iOS, basing the Office suite on mobile makes sense, but on Windows 10 is unnecessary.
