Microsoft Stops Minecraft Pocket Edition Updates for Windows Mobile Devices

The development-stop for Windows Mobile is based on the low number of users playing Minecraft PE 8.1 on Windows Phones.

Windows Mobile fans of Minecraft have been dealt a significant blow. However, the development hours needed to keep the game up to date are no longer economically viable for Microsoft.

This is why the company has decided to stop developing updates for Minecraft PE 8.1 and 10 Mobile, according to Windows Central’s sources.

Minecraft recently released the Ender update 1.0 for Windows 10 and Pocket Edition. It brought new features and improvements such as The Ender Dragon, The End, Dragon’s Breath potion and others, celebrating the five years since Pocket Edition’s launch.

Fans of the game can still download and play Minecraft Pocket Edition on Windows Phone devices, for the time being, but will receive no updates to the app.
