It hasn't necessarily been a good start to 2017 for the in terms of games. Of course, I am referencing the decision by Studios to shut down the anticipated RPG title Scalebound. As the ramifications of that move rumble on, it is time to get a bit more positive and take a look at some of the games landing on the console this week.

Putting the Scalebound saga in the past, the Xbox team is ushering a new week with titles galore:

“Welcome to Next Week on Xbox, where we cover the best games coming soon to Xbox One. Every week, the team at Xbox aims to deliver quality gaming content for you to enjoy on your favorite gaming console, and Xbox Wire will be here to let you know when you can play every new release hitting Xbox One.”

Here are some of our favorites from the upcoming games

RWBY: Grimm Eclipse – January 17

RWBY Grimm Eclipse is a four player online co-op hack ‘n' slash. The game revolves around Ruby, Weiss, Black, and Yang (RWBY, get it?) as they fight new Grimm types.

The characters and worlds are inspired by the Rooster Teeth hit series. The developers say this title comes with new areas for gamers to fight in.

Saban's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle – January 17

Power Rangers was always good fun, superheroes, giant robot dinosaurs, and monster fights that felt like a final boss of a game. Well, with the new Power Rangers: Mega Battle game, users can get nostalgic and fight through levels based on classic episodes. The developers point out “The levels are ?lled with familiar dialogue, background details, cut scenes, and enemies pulled straight from the ?rst two seasons of the show!”

Siegecraft Commander – January 17

Siegecraft Commander is turn-based strategic war game that is available as a multiplayer experience on both Xbox One and . Because of Microsoft's Play Anywhere, users can play together across the platforms.

“Create the ultimate fortress and wreak havoc and destruction on your enemies with tower flinging fun in Siegecraft Commander! Carefully plan the location of the towers and walls in your fortress network to outmaneuver your foes. Easy-to-learn strategic elements combine in subtle ways to yield a rich tactical experience. Enjoy intuitive turn-based tactical gameplay or the intensity and richness of real-time strategy for multiplayer across Xbox One and Windows 10!”

The Assembly – January 20

The Assembly put a twist on the first person style by removing most of the familiar shooting elements. Instead, gamers play an interactive story and face moral decisions in a secret organization. “Explore as two individuals and face tough decisions from contrasting perspectives, that culminate in one of multiple thrilling conclusions.”
