The Next Lock Screen is a Microsoft Garage app that replaces the default lock screen on Android. The service has been given a new update, bringing the app to version 3.11.2. Microsoft has not introduced any new features in this release. However, the company has tweaked the battery life to get more juice out of the Next Lock Screen.
Improving the battery life is important for users who check notifications and information such as weather. To help the battery last longer, Next Lock Screen now uses Wi-Fi when possible to locate a user. When Wi-Fi is not available, the app will search using GPS.
Among the abilities of the Next Lock Screen is to create custom unlock. Users can also call contacts without opening the device. The lock screen also allows users to see notifications, weather, calendar, settings, and music playback. Users can also launch applications directly from the screen.
Microsoft describes the app as: “Next Lock Screen is the ultimate lock screen for busy professionals. Next helps protect your phone from unwanted access by others, and you are instantly more productive. It is an excellent productivity locker app and companion for your everyday life.”
Updating Exclusive Android Apps
Microsoft now has a number of apps designed specifically for the Android platforms. On the weekend, the company updated the Arrow Launcher to version 2.9.1. The extensive update focused on focusing the overall experience to make the launcher smoother.
However, the company does now allow Bing wallpaper as an icon on the home page. This feature shows the images from Bing in a live icon.
With Arrow Launcher and the Next Lock Screen, users can turn their Android device into a more Microsoft-focused experience.
