The is arguably the best virtual reality headset around, but it comes with a considerable price tag. Thankfully, retailers like Amazon and Vive's own store are currently offering the headset for $100 less as part of Black Friday.

However, is running a deal that might be more to your taste. You can get hold of the Vive for the same $699.99 price tag, but with a $100 Microsoft gift code, and some free games to boot.

If you're planning on buying another item from the , this is a no-brainer. The $100 code lasts until April 2017, so you'll have plenty of time to spend it. Bear in mind that the code doesn't combine with any other deals, so you might not be able to use it in the Black Friday sale.

Free Vive Games

Two games come with the purchase of the Vive: The Gallery – Episode 1, and Zombie Training Simulator. Neither are triple A titles, but it should be enough to get you started.

The Gallery: Call of the Starseed is probably the most impressive of the two. As the protagonist, you follow messages left by your twin sister as you embark on a dark fantasy adventure.

The game combines puzzle and adventure elements as you move through the various environments via room-scale tracking. The visual are great, as is the soundtrack, which is by award-winning composer Jeremy Soule.

Zombie Training Simulator is a different genre entirely, and consists mostly of shooting zombies. You'll unlock new weapons as you go along, including shotguns, machine guns, pistols and explosives.

The game contains both speed tests and survival mode, your scores going onto a global leaderboard so you can compete with friends. There's plenty of content, and it makes a decent starting game.

Despite Microsoft's great deal, it's worth noting that you can get these games free with other Vive bundles. If you're not going to use the Store voucher, it might be worth shopping around to see what other retailers offer.

You can get the HTC Vive from the Microsoft Store now, as long as you're in the US or Canada. The offer will expire on November 27.
