Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations has become generally available. The service was announced alongside the general roll out of the whole Dynamics 365 suite. This is a specific variant of the SaaS that gives clients smoothly movie between applications thanks to a new header. Microsoft says all Dynamics 365 plans are supported in the Operations service.
With Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations, customers can access Office 365 and AppSource to get more applications.
This service is an evolution of Microsoft’s outgoing Dynamics AX for the Azure cloud platform. The company says it is a business management solution. It is adaptable across Retail, Distribution, Manufacturing, Public Sector and Service industries. It supports backend operations for customers in the mid-market or higher.
Microsoft says Dynamics 365 for Operations is currently available as a free 30-day trial. Three days before the trial period ends, Microsoft will send a reminder email for customers to opt out of complete their purchase. Microsoft explained the platform in its blog post:
“Dynamics 365 for Operations, the evolution of Dynamics AX on Azure, is our complete business management solution with industry capabilities around Retail, Distribution, Manufacturing, Public Sector and Service industries, across the spectrum of backend operations into Financials for upper mid-market and larger customers. With this update, Dynamics 365 for Operations will add country-specific versions of the app for 18 new markets.”

As mentioned, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Operations arrives the same day as the overall Dynamics 365 roll out. Microsoft made its cloud-based SaaS platform available this week with a roadmap for future updates and features.
The service allows customers to choose just the applications they want to use, and only pay for those apps. This customization allows Dynamics 365 to be affordable, with Microsoft claiming it is a much better deal than Salesforce.
The platform integrates with Office 365, Cortana Intelligence, and Power BI. Dynamics 365 also uses predictive intelligence, workflow optimization, and built-in insights.
