Microsoft has officially announced the release date for Windows 10 Redstone 2. As we already suspected, the next major upgrade of the platform will launch during spring, 2017. The company says it is further enhancing the Windows experience by focusing on creating. With that in mind, Redstone 2 is officially called Windows 10 Creator Update.
3D for Microsoft Edge and PowerPoint
The Windows 10 Creators Update will add 3D abilities to the Edge browser and PowerPoint. It will allow to place 3D objects within a PowerPoint slides and other apps. Users can interact with those objects by zooming and revolving.
On Edge, 3D can work along with HoloLens to allow true 3D browsing. If you see an object or content piece you like, you can move it into the real augmented world environment.

Paint 3D
Paint 3D is a major upgrade for the company’s good old Paint suite which will bring a new dimension of Paint creation. I will now be available in the Windows Store in preview form.
With Paint 3D users can draw a 3D sketch on one device and view it later on another Windows 10 device, such as mobile or HoloLens.
When ported to the HoloLens, the 3D image will be viewable as a hologram. Other features include “Time Machine” and “Magic Select”.
HoloLens and Virtual Reality
Microsoft has opened Windows 10 up to be the de facto platform for virtual reality. The company has largely been focused on its own HoloLens augmented reality platform. Now virtual reality gets some love and even some headsets from Windows 10 OEMs.
Five new headsets were introduced at a cost of $299. Microsoft says these are a fraction of the cost of rivals like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, which cost over $799.
HoloLens was not left out, with the company showing how the headset integrates with Paint 3D. The result is something we feel will have numerous applications in the real world. HoloTour fits that too. The feature gives users the ability to tour cities and landmarks in a virtual reality environment.
