Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring are being treated to a new Windows 10 Redstone preview release. Microsoft has rolled out build 14951 for both PC and Mobile on the Fast Ring of the Windows Insider Program. The latest update comes with some changes to the camera, inking, and improvements for the Linux subsystem.
In terms of inking, Windows Ink is getting enhancements for PC users. Redstone 2 build 14951 adds Stencils and a protractor tool to the suite. The release also makes it possible for users to ink within photos for the first time.
Speaking of photos, Microsoft has given the camera a refresh with this update. More specifically, both the PC and mobile versions of the app are scoring some new features. Among them are buttons to take shots in higher-contrast. Users can now set a time for photos from the control panel, while a new zoom slider improves functionality.
Continuing the imaging theme, there have been some Surface-specific changes. Living Images is now supported Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3 with this build. Shot-to-shot support is now faster, while feedback for saving files to SD cards has been improved.
As mentioned, this Redstone 2 release also makes changes to the Windows Subsystem for Linux. The two new additions are Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) support for Bash on Ubuntu on Windows instances; and improved Windows/WSL interoperability.

Redstone 2
The codename for the Anniversary Update was Redstone and it was always known to come in two parts. Redstone 2 (rs2) was once scheduled for release this year, but has since been pushed back to spring, 2017.
Microsoft rolled out the Anniversary Update to end users at the start of August. This was the Redstone 1 released that had been tested by members of the Windows Insider Program for months. Without wasting any time, the company moved straight to Redstone 2.
