has sent out its latest for Anniversary Update. Build 14393.321 was released yesterday. As this was a Patch Tuesday release, it focused on squashing bugs and enhancing overall performance. This is a “Production Ring” update that is available to all PC users now.

Windows 10 Mobile users with the Anniversary Update are getting this update through the Release Preview. On PC, build 14393.321 is listed as KB3194798 and is available to all users. Microsoft has made the update available to all at the same time, so you should already have been prompted to update.

Patch Tuesday is focused on the company solving issues with its services. This update for Windows 10 Anniversary Update is no exception. It squashes a number of bugs, enhances battery life, and improves general performance.

That's probably not good news if you were hoping for new platform features. Either way, Microsoft has provided a changelog that details the changes:

  • Addressed issue causing printer drivers to not install correctly after installing security update KB317005.
  • Issue causing sign-in errors if a password is entered incorrectly or a new password doesn't meet password complexity requirements after installing security update KB3167679.
  • Addressed issue that required users to log out and log back in before using the application they installed using the Windows installer (MSI).
  • Improved support for networks by adding new entries to the Access Point Name (APN) database.
  • Addressed issue that was causing excessive battery drain on Windows 10 Mobile when connected to Wi-Fi.
  • Addressed issue in which setting up both fingerprint and iris recognition sometimes causes the sign-in to fail on Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Solved issue that was causing high CPU usage on Windows 10 Mobile.
  • Addressed additional issues with multimedia playback, revised daylight saving time, authentication, Internet Explorer 11, and Windows Shell.
  • Security updates to Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11, Windows registry, and diagnostics hub.

Recent Cumulative Updates

Microsoft rolled out cumulative update 14393.222 at the end of September. However, that release came with a significant problem. Some users found that the update was crashing their machines. The company eventually sent out a patch to fix that issue.

Speaking of cumulative rollouts to solve issues. Microsoft returned last week with build KB3197356, which focused on solving a problem with the Edge browser.
