Not to be confused with Microsoft’s Word Flow Keyboard, Flow is an app that lets user automate almost any task. At the start of the month, the app started allowing anybody to sign up, and now the team has pushed out an update to all those new users.
The update includes support for two more third-party services, as well as Microsoft Graph People Picker integration and Dynamics AX support.
Flow Preview Changelog
Principal group PM manager for Flow Stephen Siciliano provided some extra detail the changes in a blog post:
- “Microsoft Graph People Picker: With the next release it’ll be easier than ever to use the Send Email action. A new Microsoft Graph people picker is integrated directly into the Microsoft Flow UI to help you choose the right contact or email address. This new feature will help to prevent mistyping a colleague’s email address.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX Support: Microsoft Flow integrates well with Dynamics CRM Online, and today we added support for Dynamics AX Online as well. From inside your flows you can now take action on your operations data, from creating new records to querying for data. You can try it out yourself by searching for Dynamics AX when you add an action to your flow:
There also is an improvement to the Dynamics CRM support: you can now trigger flows based on a record being deleted.
- New Services: appFigures is a reporting platform for mobile app developers. There are triggers for events around your mobile apps (such as when there is a new review):
- Insightly is a customer relationship and project management tool, and it will be coming soon.
Though it’s not on the list, Microsoft also added todoist and Smartsheet to the service. Todoist lets you perform an action when you complete or create a task on your list, and Smartsheet allows you to automate spreadsheet and survey tasks.
If all of that sounds good for you, you can sign up for the preview now for instant access.
