Salesforce Introduces Einstein, an AI That Could Rival Microsoft and Google

Salesforce's Einstein AI aims to bring intelligence to any business via advanced machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.

Artificial Intelligence is a topic we’ve heard a lot about recently. Be it Elon Musk’s warnings of danger, Apple’s Siri or Microsoft’s various projects. Every big company wants in, and Salesforce’s Einstein will make that a lot easier.

According to VP of Marketing Jim Sinai,“Einstein is removing the complexity of AI, enabling any company to deliver smarter, personalized and more predictive customer experiences.”

Einstein Features

Naturally, Salesforce’s AI has all the relevant technology behind it. Einstein utilizes advanced machine learning, deep learning, predictive language discovery and smart data discovery.

It self-tunes, evolving with each interaction and set of data. Salesforce says the service has a particular focus on business. It will discover relevant insights automatically, predict behavior and even automate tasks.

“We couldn’t be more excited to finally unveil Salesforce Einstein after two years of hard work and targeted acquisitions,” says Sinai, “As we continue to build out AI for CRM, we are committed to understanding the next generation of AI technology.”

Future of Einstein

This understanding will come from a new research group, led by Dr. Richard Socher. Socher is Salesforce’s chief scientist and began with the acquisition of MetaMind in April.

Socher first formed the company in 2014 with the help of Salesforce CEO Mac Benioff, who gave a big chunk of the $8 million in financial backing. Since then, MetaMind has published a number of important research papers.

The hope is for Socher and his team to continue to revolutionize AI for use in a variety of scenarios. The ultimate goal is to embed Einstein in everyday technology for a smarter, tailored experience.

Enthusiasts will get a first look at the Dreamforce conference on October 4th. It’s too late to get a full pass now, but the event will stream live around the world. We’ll have to wait until then to see if the company really can compete, and what exactly Einstein is capable of.
