Microsoft all but pulled out of the mobile hardware business earlier in the year. However, the company reassured OEMs that it will continue to fully support Windows 10 Mobile. That promise has been met and coming updates for the platform promise interesting changes. Specifically improved WiFi settings and a new redesigned Action Center.
Windows Insider, Core, took to Twitter over the weekend to show images of the coming updates. In terms of the WiFi settings menu, Windows 10 Mobile needs the change. At the moment, the platform has a mundane reskinned version of Windows Phone 8.1 WiFi settings.
The upcoming changes will bring the settings more in sync with the general look of Windows 10 Mobile. Moreover, it will look more like the WiFi settings on the PC version of Windows 10. Microsoft will be making the menu more responsive and quicker.

Windows 10 Mobile users will have to wait a while to see this update, though. At the moment it is coming to a Redstone (rs2) preview build soon. If you are not familiar with rs2, it is a follow-up to the Anniversary Update. Microsoft is currently rolling out rs2 previews to Windows Insiders ahead of its full launch in 2017.
Cross-Architecture Design
Another tweet discusses what Microsoft has been planning for some time. Core points out that the company is “working on multiple cross-architecture subsystems”. This is a good start because Microsoft carried plenty of Windows Phone 8.1 pages to Windows 10 Mobile. Hopefully, the company will start changing that with Redstone 2.
The Action Center fits into this. Microsoft is also updating the UI and performance of the page. This includes bringing Windows 10 Mobile transitions and landscape mode abilities.
What is probably the best part of this upcoming release is that it shows Microsoft is still pushing the platform. Some eyebrow were raised when the Anniversary Update came to mobile later than other form factors. However, the company is keeping its promise to support the platform.
