Microsoft Reduces Surface Book 4 Intel Core i5 by $150

After recently reducing the price of the Surface Book entry device, Microsoft is back with a Surface Pro 4 price reduction. Customers can now buy the Intel Core i5 model for $849.

Microsoft is enticing users to embrace the Windows 10 platform post-Anniversary Update. Just last week, the company cut the price of the Surface Book from $1,499 to $1,349, a $150 saving. Now the company is also slashing the price of one of its Surface Pro 4 devices.

Specifically, consumers now looking for the Surface Pro 4 with an Intel Core i5 can also save $150. This is the version that comes with 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, it is an excellent device. At the moment the device is available for $849, down from $999.

That 15% decrease means that the Core i5 variant is actually more affordable than the entry level Surface Pro with the Intel Core m3 chip. Microsoft says that this sale is active for the majority of the month, ending on August 27.

Sweetening the Deal of Surface Pro 4

Obviously this is a welcome deal. The Surface Pro 4 is a fantastic device, arguably the best convertible tablet/laptop on the market. However, it is an expensive piece of kit, so any price cut should be embraced by consumers.

Let’s not forget that the Surface Pro 4 has also driven Microsoft’s hardware business of late. The device has increased sales consistently and is one of the only growing products in the ailing tablet market.

To make its latest deal more enticing, Microsoft is sweetening that package. Running until September 3, the company is knocking $50 off the Surface Dock when it is purchased with the Pro 4 i5. If you are getting a more expensive Surface pro 4, you can get $100 off the Dock. On top of this, the recently announced free three-month Hulu subscription is also included.
