Microsoft Introduces PowerApps for Web Preview

Businesses using the cross-platform app creation tool can now access PowerApps through their web browser. The service allows the creation of in-house applications without a need of extensive coding knowledge.

is coming to the web. 's cross-platform coding tool has been released as a web preview, the company announced. The upshot of the release is that developers and customers can now access the service directly within their web browser.

If you are not familiar with PowerApps, it is a service oriented towards businesses. It gives developers tool to create cross-platform in-house applications without the need of coding skills. Microsoft has talked up the versatility of the software. The company says it locks into any cloud service or data source on the Azure platform.

Users can also integrate the service into the Microsoft IFITT-type tool Flow. That functionality has previously been available offline (as an app) since Microsoft rolled out a preview in April. Now businesses can access the service directly in their web browser.

The preview of the web service can be accessed at https://web.powerapps.com. The PowerApps Studio for web options is now available, where users should select new app from the left navigation bar.

Functionality will be limited because this is a preview release, while there may be some bugs too. Microsoft, as usual, is asking users to provide feedback so the company can work to improve the service to meet customer needs. Recent Improvements

In July Microsoft opened one-click integration for PowerApps in SharePoint online, while also updating the coding tool. That release pushed the app to version 2016.725.50.288 and came with a number of new features. Added to the application were dates and times, new sample apps and templates, pass parameters, and other features.
