Microsoft has raised a curtain on a new Discord server for Xbox. The feature was announced by Microsoft’s Partner Director of Program Management on Twitter. Discord is a chat service that is already widely used in the gaming community. It is logical for Microsoft to adopt it for the Xbox platform.
Discord gives users the ability to gather and discuss any topic. It is a gamer favorite but has also been described as a competitor to traditional chat services like Skype and Hangouts. However, it is more oriented towards gamers. However, pitching itself for the gaming community, Discord says its time “to ditch Skype and TeamSpeak.”
“All-in-one voice and text chat for gamers that’s free, secure, and works on both your desktop and phone. Stop paying for TeamSpeak servers and hassling with Skype. Simplify your life.”

The service allows gamers to chat in a community, with text the primary contact source. However, some rooms do have audio chat capabilities. Rooms are divided into community, game, app, and product categories.
Discord Xbox Server
Linking up with Discord, the Xbox server will be a place where users can interact with Microsoft employees. Mike Ybarra, who confirmed the server, with serve as an administrator alongside the moderators.
The company is inviting users to the Xbox Server now.
Windows 10 users can already take advantage of the Discord app. That will allow them to access the Xbox server directly from their desktop. However, Windows 10 Mobile users are still out in the cold. Discord is in the process of developing that application. Now time frame has been given for its release.
