Microsoft has released a new service called Bookings. The Outlook team announced the new appointment feature that is made for Office 365 Business Premium subscribers. Microsoft says the service will be rolled out to users “over the coming months”.
Bookings allows subscribers to use a device to book appointments directly online. Across their Office 365 compatible devices, users can view a centralized calendar. It is worth noting that this service is exclusive to the Office 365 Business Premium users. The company has said Bookings is unlikely to be launched to other Office 365 customers.
In an Office Blog, Microsoft describes Bookings:
“Bookings provides your business a unique web page that your customers can use to schedule appointments, even when you’re not around to pick up the phone or respond to an email. The web page is simple to use: the customer first selects the service they want and, based on availability you provide, chooses a day and time when you or one of your staff is available, enters their contact information and books the appointment.”
Features
Among the features in the service are rescheduling, email confirmations, notifications, and the ability to cancel appointments. One of the more interesting features allows companies to manage appointments amongst employees. While the service is exclusive to Office 365 Business Premium users, appointments are made by anyone, even outside 365.
While Bookings is an ideal addition for existing Business Premium customers, it is also another way for Microsoft to entice customers. Office 365 Business Premium costs $15 per user or $12.50 per month if you pay per year.
