Microsoft Brings Flow App Automation Tool to Android

At the moment, Flow for Android is in beta testing. Users can downloaded it but will have limited functionality, such as an inability to create new Flows.

-

has already expanded its Flow service to other platforms. The company launched the service on iOS last month and now seems to be pushing it to . Users of 's mobile platform can now beta-test the app automation tool as Microsoft seems to be testing it.

At the moment the app is missing some key features. Microsoft is clearly still finalizing development as users are not even to start a new Flow. Instead, the web app needs to be used when creating new Flows. The current beta app only allows users to get notifications about existing Flows no matter what platform they were created on.

The app automating tool can be viewed as an enterprise-oriented IFTTT, allowing users to create automated workflows between applications. The automated chains can offer notifications, data collection, and file synchronization.

For example, the service can be used to automate notifications for other services, like a Slack chat. The service can be used to set up to send notifications to services such as Trello and other non-Microsoft services. Of course, the company's own software, like OneDrive, also work within Flow.

Microsoft Flow makes it easy to mash-up two or more different services. Today, it is publicly available as a preview, at no cost. We have connections to 35+ different services, including both Microsoft services like OneDrive and SharePoint, and public software services like Slack, Twitter, and Salesforce.com, with more being added every week.

If you are on Android and are interested in Flow, then take a look at the beta right here. If you can deal with very limited functionality that is.
