Microsoft’s Next Lock Screen has won plenty of plaudits from Android users. To keep the feature maintained, the company has launched a new update. The upgrade comes with some new functionality and brings Next Lock Screen to version v3.6.0.

Among the new additions is support for both French and Italian. Microsoft has also improved how the app acts against device performance by lowering memory usage. As it normally the case, the update also comes with changes to performance and general tweaks and bug squashes.

Here is the complete changelog:

  1. French and Italia language
  2. Lock screen performance improvement when lock/unlock
  3. Improves memory usage
  4. Fix bug launchpad show quickly after unlocking
  5. Fix occasionally notifications’ title and content mismatch

Microsoft’s Android-based lock screen lets users create a custom unlock and call contacts directly from the lock screen. The service also comes with features such as notifications, app launching, weather, calendar, settings, and music all directly from Next Lock Screen. Microsoft described the service on the official Google Play Store page:

“Next Lock Screen is the ultimate lock screen for busy professionals. Next helps protect your phone from unwanted access by others, and you are instantly more productive. It is an excellent productivity locker app and companion for your everyday life.”

In February, the company introduced fingerprint recognition to unlock the device. Other new features in that update included “location-based wallpaper,” which magically switches the wallpapers as soon as the user switches locations.
