Microsoft has today rolled out a cumulative update for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile. The update is running under the build number 10586.494. KB3163912 is the build for the initial Windows 10 2015 release and KB3172985 is for Windows 10 version 1511.
As usual, Microsoft has released the changelog to the Windows Update History page. That’s also the location you need to head if you want to check your device is up to date. As expected with a cumulative update, there is not a lot going on with this release aside from fixes.
Typical performance enhancements, security patches, and fixes for known issues are the order of the day. That means don’t get Windows 10 build 10586.494 hoping for some new features. Of course, you won’t have to wait long for those with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update dropping in a few weeks.

While nothing exciting comes bundled into build 10586.494, as always it is worth downloading. Not least because it is simply the latest release from Microsoft, so has all the company’s newest security and performance enhancements.
