Visual Studio Code version 1.3 for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux boasts improved management with a modified Extensions feature. According to a report from MSPoweruser, this enables users to see extensions installed on the system, search for specific extensions, and install them within the panel.
Users can easily switch back to the older user interface simply by disabling the Tabs feature. The much-awaited Tabs will allow users to move them via drag and drop, and switch between tabs by using CTRL+Tab.
The update also fixes a number of bugs, especially in the SASS mode language ID, and within the Integrated Terminal. Users can also check a list of closed bugs and closed feature requests within the Update page.

- “Tabs: The tabbed editor allows users to quickly navigate around files and organize the workbench more efficiently.
- Extensions: The new in-product Extensions View will allow users to quickly find, install and manage extensions to the program.
- Workbench: The Workbench is now equipped with an enchaned drag and drop feature. Preview Editors are now available to conserve editor panes, and there are now multiple integrated terminals.
- Editor: The update adds a Global Search and Replace function to the code editor. Indent Guides allow for easier input, while the Problems panel is now geared towards more efficient error management.
- Languages: Emmet support is now fully integrated into the system, while a grammar extension for Atom JavaScript has been placed.
- Debugging: Users will experience improvements to the code’s debugging procedure, including support for running Node.js processes and changing variable values during sessions.
- Extension Authoring: This is a new contribution point for menu bars and context menus. New APIs can open non-text resources and add editor decorator attachments.”
