Along with the Windows 10 Anniversary Preview Build 14383, has released a new Anniversary Update Preview SDK. The preview can be used in conjunction with Build 14383 and any upcoming later previews, the company says in an official blog to announce the release.

The new Preview SDK is now available for download from the developer section on the Windows Insider Program hub. Microsoft says developers currently working on applications that will be submitted to the Windows Store should refrain from installing the new SDK.

That's because the new preview cannot be used in a production environment due to its pre-release status. Microsoft says users should only download the SDK on a test machine and that the build only the Preview SDK for Build 14383 only contains bug fixes and under development changes to the API surface area.

SDK's are launched for app developers, in this instance those developers who are planning to launch applications for the Windows 10 Anniversary Update roll out. That is why Microsoft says those preparing app releases before that should not use this preview.

In its official release blog, Microsoft notes:

We are getting close to Windows 10 Anniversary Update on August 2nd, 2016. It is a great time to start testing end to end with all the new APIs Windows 10 Anniversary Update provides.

This is still a pre-release build of the SDK. While the EULA does state this is an RTM release, it is not. This release does not have a go-live license. Apps built with this SDK will not be allowed to be on-boarded to the store.

The company launched the Windows 10 Anniversary Preview Build 14383 earlier today, bringing UI improvements and fixes to the platform on the Windows Insider Fast Ring. Microsoft is finalizing the Anniversary Update ahead of its launch on August 2.
