has expanded support of its Windows Device Recovery Tool service, adding more devices to the list. The update brings compatibility for the NuAns Neo and the VAIO Phone Biz, while also offering support for the Yezz Billy 4.7 and the Unistrong T536.

All pretty obscure handsets considering Microsoft's own Lumia brand dominates the , but it is good that the company is adding support for these lesser used devices. Through Windows Device Recovery Tool, users of these handsets will now be able to reset their devices if they want a clean install.

The Windows Device Recovery Tool allows users to re-download the latest Mobile build and remove everything else on their device, including all media (movies, images, apps, etc.). It is designed to help users who run into software problems on their device, allowing them to go back to a previously working build.

To use the tool, users need to hook up their device to a PC running Windows 7, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 via a USB cable. A device will need to have at least 4GB of free space on it. Once connected, it is as simple as selecting “Install Software” for the Device Recovery Tool to reset a device.

Among the new devices getting support, the VAIO Phone Biz is arguably the most interesting, if only for the history behind it. VAIO is, of course, Sony's old PC brands back when the company was a major Windows partners. Since then Sony offloaded the VAIO brand, which was picked up by a Japanese company and now makes smartphones.

The Phone Biz is the second VAIO smartphone following an Android effort last year. The company decided to jump on board with the Windows 10 Mobile platform and the Phone Biz represents a solid handset for the market.

The latest update for Windows Device Recovery Tool is version 3.7.18601 and you can download here.
