Last month Microsoft vaguely announced that it was developing a tool that would allow Windows Insiders to clean install Windows 10, making the process of installing the platform easy. The company has still not raised the curtain on the tool yet, but WalkingCat on Twitter has found that it is already available for download.
This is what Microsoft had to say the clean install Windows 10 tool for Windows Insiders through a Microsoft Answers post last month:
“Want a simple and easy way to start fresh with a clean installation of Windows? Looking for an easy way to do this? We’re working on a tool to make this possible.
Final testing and validation is underway and we will want your feedback once it is ready to go! Stay tuned for additional information as we work through the finishing touches.”
Microsoft is calling the tool “Refresh Windows” and is available to Windows Insiders running the latest Windows 10 Anniversary (Redstone) preview build. It appears to be a very simple process to clean boot Windows 10 with the Refresh Windows tool, but then again it has been an easy process to do the same thing with the existing Media Creation Tool.
With this tool users can install a clean version of Windows 10, removing any apps or programs but keeping files if they want (files can also be deleted if chosen). The company has yet to go official, so we guess that Refresh Windows will simplify the clean install procedure even more than the Media Creation Tool.
