Pro-technology minded educators can now apply for the next intake of Innovative Educator program, giving successful parties access to Microsoft resources and events.

Those interested in being part of the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert program can now apply for the next intake as Redmond has opened applications.

If you are not familiar with the program, it was created to bring together educators seeking innovative development of pro-technology oriented education around the world. Microsoft Innovative Educator gives successful applicants the resources to develop their ideas, present those plans in the global EduCast Webinar series hosted by the company, and gain Microsoft's feedback in focus groups.

There are other perks to being selected for MIE, including access to Microsoft and other events, including the Microsoft Global Educator Exchange Event. The company describes the program thusly:

The Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Expert program is an exclusive program created to recognize global educator visionaries who are using technology to pave the way for their peers in the effective use of technology for better learning and student outcomes. MIE Experts help Microsoft to lead innovation in education. They advocate and share their thoughts on effective use of technology in education with peers and policy makers. They provide insight for Microsoft on new products and tools for education, and they exchange best practices as they work together to promote innovation in teaching and learning.

Those interested in apply are able to so through a self-nomination process. There is a criteria that must be met by all applicants however, including a two minute application video and a current Microsoft Educator Community profile.

The company says it will close the application proves on July 15, 2016 and will tell successful applicants on August 15, 2016.
