Microsoft Groove Updated for Windows Insiders

-

The update for 's service has dropped for those on the Windows Insider Program, bringing a couple of new features with it.

Windows Insiders should be on the lookout for a new update to Microsoft's Groove music streaming service after the company rolled out an upgrade. The update is available to those on the Windows Insider program for and Windows 10 Mobile.

That means it is not available to all end users, but the features in this preview update will be made publically ready at some point. The update will be of interest to regulars of Groove as it adds some quality and much asked for new features.

Here's what's new:

For Groove Music Pass subscribers, Radio now shows top artist stations

Copy links to songs, albums, and artists right in the app so you can easily share music with anyone, anywhere.

Hardly a substantial upgrade, but it is nice to see Microsoft expand the functionality of Groove, and the ability share easier is a welcome addition. Insiders can head to the Windows Store and collect the update right now, and if any non-insiders see the upgrade let us know.

The service still lags behind more mature music streaming offerings like Spotify, but Microsoft has been working hard to expand the service. Just recently the company announced that it is extending the free trial period to sixty days, up from thirty days. This gives new users two months to test the Groove waters, so to speak.

Even those currently in their first month will get the added thirty days on top, Microsoft said.
