HP OMEN Gaming Laptops and PC Launched

-

The company has introduced three new OMEN gaming machines running the platform, with a new 4K display also making its debut.

In case you didn't get the memo, PC gaming is better than console gaming if you value graphics, performance, and gameplay quality. That means while the PC market as a whole dwindles ever closer to obscurity, there will always be a dedicated pocket of hardcore gamers who will keep gaming PCs viable.

HP is one of the leading names in consumers PCs and has launched the odd stunning gaming rig over the years too, even if the company is not known amongst the gaming PC elite. Its new OMEN brand gaming PCs should appeal to many gamers, and HP has introduced a whole line of products that includes two Windows 10 notebooks, a Windows 10 desktop rig, and a new gaming-oriented display.

Starting with the laptops, the OMEN gaming laptops are available in two sizes, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch, while there are also screen resolution options of Full HD 1080p or 2160p (4K). Configuration options allow for anywhere from a 6th gen Intel Core i3 processor clocked at 2.7GHz right up to an i7 clocked at 2.6GHz.

The GPU can be an Intel HD 530 up to a beastly NVidia GeForce GTX 965M with 4GB of dedicated graphics memory. There are also RAM options up to 16GB DDR4, while storage possibilities range from a 512GB SSD to a 1TB SSHD paired with 8GB NAND. HP is also touting 10 hours of battery life in these machines, coupled with fast charging capabilities.

HP has also launched a new OMEN desktop and the focus of the rig is its ability to handle virtual reality gaming with aplomb, giving users of the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift a machine to back up their tech. The desktop sports a 6th gen Intel Core i5 or i7, anywhere up to 32GB of RAM, up to a 3TB HHD, and either a NVidia GeForce GTX 1080 Founder's Edition or AMD Radeon R9 390X.

If 4K gaming is your thing (if you are PC gaming it should be), then HP has you covered with a new 32-inch OMEN display with QHD resolution (2560 x 1440).

Quality gaming rigs are not costing thousands of dollars these days (those options are available of course), so HP has kept the price of the new OMEN range modest. The laptops will start at $899.99 when they arrive on the company's website on July 10, while the desktop will arrive in August and will start at $999.99.
