Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella talks Business Digitalization at Hannover Messe 2016

-

Tech trade show, Hannover Messe has kicked off this week and says is spearheading digitalization of the manufacturing process.

Microsoft and CEO Satya Nadella is in attendance Hannover Messe 2016, where Nadella gave a keynote address at the largest industrial technology fair on Sunday.

During the event, the CEO discussed the transformation of the industry through digital means, citing systems that allow companies to have more control and knowledge of big data.

Microsoft is of course at the heart of this transformation, Nadella said, helping enterprises transform their output and even change their business model.

He named Rolls-Royce, Siemens, Jabil, and Japan Airlines are just some of the companies using Microsoft for this digital transformation.

Speaking of Jabil, Satya Nadella said Microsoft's predictive analytics are being used to find flaws in the equipment used in the company's manufacturing process. “So that means even if there is a mistake made in the first step” of production, “they're able to connect back to the cloud, use machine learning, detect that mistake and correct it before it goes all the way to the end of the production line,” Nadella said.

Rolls-Royce is using Microsoft cloud services to increase efficiency of its commercial jet engines and lower maintenance costs. Siemens Healthcare collaborated with Microsoft on a cloud platform for patients and doctors to use for on data and diagnostics. Japan Airlines is using Microsoft's HoloLens to train maintenance staff.

It changes how you will engage with your customers, how you in fact empower your own employees inside every one of your organizations to be able to gain insight from big data, take action from big data, and to optimize your operations and change the very nature of the business models around your industrial products.
