Microsoft Releases More Xbox One Backwards Compatible Titles

-

Keeping true to its commitment to bring more backwards compatible games to the , the list has now includes four new game titles.

It has been a slow and steady run to the finish line for 's Xbox One backward compatibility program. The company has admitted that it's an “extremely challenging” undertaking, but any worries that Redmond has stopped trying can be set aside as new backwards compatible games for the console have just been announced.

Taking to Twitter, Xbox Live's Larry Hryb details the three titles that are now playable on the One; they are Pac-Man, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, and Alan Wake.

The first two are classics that don't require any further introduction, but if you're wondering about the third title, Alan Wake, it's a 3rd-person action game that has been described as a psychological action thriller. The ratings for the game are pretty good, which now stand at 4.5 stars (out of 5).

Microsoft landed in hot water last month when it pulled Castlevania: SOTN — the same title reported here — from the Xbox One backwards compatibility list. It was later explained by Hyrb that the game, along with several titles, was “accidentally released”. Here's hoping that this time around the classic RPG game will stay put.

For the full list of “oldies but goodies” Xbox 360 games that can be played on the newer One console, you can check out Hyrb's Major Nelson website below.
