Super VOOC: Oppo´s New Technology Can Now Fully Charge a Smartphone in 15 Minutes

-

Chinese tech giant Oppo has unveiled Super VOOC Flash Charge, a new technology that allows charging mobile devices in just 15 minutes.

Oppo's supercharger can fully charge 2,500 mAh batteries in a matter of minutes — as fast as 15 minutes, to be exact — and maybe even quicker for other devices. Oppo´s Super VOOC Flash Charge is compatible with both MicroUSB and USB 3.0.

Before the birth of Super VOOC Flash Charge, the fastest charging technology in existence was the QuickCharge 3.0 from Qualcomm, which is capable of charging certain devices to up to 80 percent in about 35 minutes.

Super VOOC is not Oppo's first attempt at fast-charging technology. It is, however, so far the best and the latest revision in the company's fast-charging technology venture.

Oppo's latest fast-charging technology relies both on battery technology and software enhancements to achieve its record-breaking achievement. Its software enhancements work similar to that of 's approach, wherein the software and other components involved are being controlled by the unit's battery technology.

Super VOOC Flash Charge will be exclusive to Oppo products and is expected to be available alongside the company's future smartphones and tablets.
