Microsoft Updates Windows Mobile OneDrive App with Improved Security

's recent app updates continue with an upgrade for the company's OneDrive app specifically for Windows Mobile devices.

The upgrade is build number 17.7.1 and arrives without a huge amount of new features, so is arriving as a small patch that does not weigh a lot.

OneDrive is the company's service that allows users to tap into files and content while on the move, connecting to the cloud with a Windows Mobile device.

Redmond has issued several updates to key mobile apps that have been rolled out to the company's services on all of the major platforms recently.

Users wanting to upgrade OneDrive to build 17.7.1 can grab the update at the Windows Store on their computer or Windows Mobile device.

Get to file info quickly using the new Details button on the command bar. We've also rearranged commands to make it easier to get to the actions you use the most.

Help protect your files in OneDrive by turning on “Additional device sign-in” in Settings. Instead of using a separate PIN code, unlock the app the same way you unlock your phone.

Improve the reliability and performance of camera upload:

Over the last week several apps have been updated, including a robust upgrade of the Outlook app on both Windows and Android that brought in such features as more gesture control on Windows and email scheduling improvements on Android.

Microsoft also rolled out a new feature for its Next Android lock screen, implementing the ability to access a device with a fingerprint scanner. The company's Word and Excel apps on Apple's iOS were give integration for cloud storage service Box, with an update that landed yesterday.
