Microsoft Celebrates at MWC 2016 as Surface Pro 4 Wins Best Mobile Tablet Award

-

The tasted glory at the Mobile World Conference Global Mobile Awards for Best Mobile Handsets & Devices, organized by GMSA.

The victory continued 's success in the category, after the 3 won the same award during the 2015 MWC event.

Redmond's flagship hardware product beat out significant competition, including the market leading iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro, while also overcoming the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 and Sony Xperia Z4.

Those are all fantastic slates in their own right, but the Surface Pro 4 with its high end appeal, near laptop like experience, and full PC software was enough to sway judges.

The Surface Pro 4 is arguably the most complete tablet on the market, although many would probably class it as a laptop (it is actually a hybrid), so perhaps its inclusion in this award category is controversial. Regardless, the device is proving to be a solid seller for Microsoft, relative to its quite costly price tag at least.

Launched last year, the Surface Pro 4 sports a 12.3-inch display with a crisp resolution of 2160 x 1440 for a pixel density of 267ppi. The accompanying stylus can detect 1024 different levels of pressure and is ideal for nipping through the Windows 10 interface with ease.

Other key specs of the Surface Pro 4 include Intel's latest Core M chipsets capable of sending out 4K video at a solid 60 frames per second. RAM and storage options are configurable right up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of native space.
