A year after Oculus has rolled out its Oculus-ready program to help computer companies come up with Rift-compatible PCs, ASUS and Dell have announced that their first Oculus-ready PCs are all set.
Both ASUS and Dell are now accepting pre-orders for their first-ever Oculus-ready PCs, at surprisingly affordable prices.
ASUS has introduced its Oculus Rift + ASUS G11CD-B11 desktop package, which is the cheapest of its kind, as well as its Oculus Rift + ASUS Oculus Ready G11CD-WS51 Bundle.
The ASUS G11CD-WS51 Desktop PC Bundle comes with an Oculus Rift headset with built-in headphones, microphones, Xbox One Wireless Controller, remote, and an Oculus-ready G11CD-WS51 Desktop PC.
Oculus Rift is equipped with advanced display technology and a low-latency constellation system of precise technology that allows users the sensation of presence.
The bundle’s G11CD-WS51 Desktop PC boasts of the 6th generation Intel core i5 6400 2.7 GHz with 8GB of RAM. It is also equipped with a 1TB 7200 rpm Hard Drive and NVIDIA GeForce GTX970 graphics card.
Asus’s Oculus Rift + ASUS Oculus Ready G11CD-WS51 Desktop PC Bundle comes with the games Eve: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale as an added bonus. Oculus Rift users, however, can also choose from a wide variety of downloadable games from different genres.
Game genres range from action RPGs, mind-bending puzzle games, sci-fi shooters, and more.
Dell, on the other hand, offers its Oculus-Ready bundles through its gaming marque, Alienware, as well as its own brand. Its Oculus-Rift bundles are built around the Dell XPS 8900 and Alienware X51 desktops.
Affordable Prices
Users who were previously hesitant about getting the Oculus Rift due to its hefty price tag (prices start at $599) now have the option to purchase this coveted gadget at a much lower price through ASUS’s and Dell’s Oculus-ready bundles.
The Oculus Rift + ASUS G11CD-B11 desktop package can be purchased at $1499, while prices for Dell’s Oculus Rift bundles start at $1,598.
Oculus has previously identified its recommended PC specifications to help manufacturers simplify the development of Rift-friendly PCs, and ensure optimum Rift experience for its users in the process.
