Announced back in 2013, the Office Accreditation Program for Mac was conducted prior to MacTech events around the United States, but this year there is no mention about the program from Microsoft.
Microsoft introduced the Accredited Support Professional Program to train Apple technicians and consultants on Microsoft Office for Mac and iOS.
The annual MacTech conference has been an event where Microsoft has conducted the Office Accreditation for the past two years, but this year it seems the company will not participate.
With the release of Office 2016, it was highly anticipated that Microsoft will bring forth courses for accreditation in Office 2016 for Mac. Moreover, the company just recently announced the Office Insider for Mac program, which gives Mac and iOS users special insights on upcoming Office updates.
As 9to5Mac has found out, the organizers of MacTech have not received any update on the Office Accreditation Program from Microsoft either.
The MacTech Pro events take place all over the United States, and Microsoft has traditionally conducted the accreditation course and evaluation one day before each of those events.
MacTech has already revealed their dates for this year, with the conference in San Francisco kicking off on 16th March, followed by events in Seattle, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Denver, New York City, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
While the future looks bleak for the Office Accreditation Program held before MacTech conference each year, Microsoft might still have something planned for Office for Mac users.
In a statement to 9to5Mac, Microsoft said that it continues to be “committed to IT Pros on the Mac platform and we recognize that the Accreditation Program has historically proved an important venue. We’re in the process of evaluating options for 2016, but don’t have anything to share at this time. We will keep you posted as we learn more.”
