VAIO to unveil Windows 10 Mobile phone on February 4

-

VAIO will present a Continuum enabled Mobile phone on Thursday. The device is said to be aimed towards the corporate market.

The new smartphone will be unveiled by Vaio president Ota Yoshimi at an event at the Japan Business Headquarters.

Japan´s President Tauya Hirano and NTT DOCOMo´s Managing Director Takagi Kazuhiro will also be present at the venue.

All we know so far is that it will be a mid-range device with Continuum support. Continuum support for the VAIO phone does not necessarily imply strong specs, since Microsoft has already revealed to offer the feature also for phones based on the cheaper Snapdragon 617 SoC Chipset.

So a Snapdragon 617 CPU or higher is the least we can speculate about. The Japanese tech company NuAns has already launched its Continuum enabled Neo smartphone based on the Snapdragon 617 chipset, so VAIO will not be the first 3rd party provider of that feature.

VAIO which once was a glorified wing of Sony´s laptop division, has made its mobile debut already last year with a five inch Android model.
