Microsoft Lumia 650: Updates on price, color and release date

In order to keep up with the growing market of Android budget phones, Microsoft is all set to release 650 early next month. The latest wallet-friendly Windows phone has been scheduled to debut in Europe, and will shortly make its way to the United States and other regions across the world.

According to Winfuture, the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be hitting the stores in in early February. The report further highlights that O2, a major carrier in Germany, will be selling the handset in this local market.

The Lumia 650 will be offered in the color combinations “White and Light Silver” and “Black and Dark Silver”, although O2 will only list the black variant for now.

As we reported earlier, Microsoft Lumia 650 specs and prototype picture have already been leaked, and the reported price range seems appropriate for the spec sheet. Since the smartphone has already received U.S. FCC approval, Lumia 650's launch in the United States should be swiftly followed after Europe.

Microsoft reaches out to the budget smartphone range

The specifications reported earlier and the alleged price is a clear indication that Microsoft is ready to take on the budget smartphone arena, which has been reigned over by Android smartphones. With a decent sized 5.0-inch display, 1GB of RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 or 210 processor, Lumia 650 has everything to take on the budget smartphone range.

With the addition of Mobile, which should be factory installed with the handset, consumers have all the more reason to see for themselves, what the mobile operating system from Microsoft has to offer.
