Microsoft: Xbox One Gets Windows 10 Update On November 12th

has announced that it will be bringing to all Xbox Consoles on November 12th. Windows 10 will come together with a dashboard update that includes many new features and improvements. The newly seeded update focuses on speed and performance and brings a redesigned interface as well.

Microsoft has tweaked the interface of so that there no need for the user go in and out of friends, party chats, and messages apps for accessing basic functions like inviting Xbox Live friends to a game. With Windows 10 onboard, the experience is likely to be much better than ever before.

Apart from major UI improvements, the company also expressed its plans to bring Cortana to Xbox One. Cortana will not come until 2016, but members of Xbox One preview will be the first ones to test this feature. The experience is likely to be very similar to what is available on the PC edition of Windows 10.

Introduction of Backward Compatibility in Xbox One

Other improvements in the dashboard update include the introduction of backwards compatibility for all Xbox One consoles. With this feature, everyone will get the opportunity to try out old games. There is a limit on the number of titles supported, but Microsoft is working to add many more titles into the list in next few months.

For existing Xbox One Preview members, the update is already rolling, and for others, it will be available on November 12th. After phones, desktop PCs, tablets, IoT devices, Windows 10 OS now runs a gaming console as well.
