Windows 10: How to Change the lock screen background image

You can use the lock-screen with your own images, static or as a slide show. We show you how to change the background image.

A) Changing the lock screen background image using Windows 10 Settings

Right click on your desktop and select Personalize.

To change the background of the lock screen, click on Lock screen and select Picture under Background from the right pane.

If you like you can choose any picture of these thumbnails. To chose a specific picture, click on Browse and select your background picture.

B) Defining a slide-show for the lock Screen Background in Windows 10 Settings

Right click on your desktop and select Personalize.

Choose Lock screen and select Slideshow from the drop down list under Background.

You are able to add a folder containing images to for your slideshow by click on Add a folder and navigate to the folder.

There are a bunch of Advanced slideshow settings which you can activate. Just switch off or on the settings you like. Interesting might be the power-saving feature in which you can select playing time under Turn off screen after slideshow has played for.

C) Changing the Lock Screen Background using the Windows 10 Photo app

Open the photo that you are going to set it as your lock screen background. Click on the More action (three dots) then choose Set as lock screen.
