Benchmarking Azure vs Amazon vs Rackspace vs HP vs Google: Microsoft Azure with best Performance

Online cloud-providers like Microsoft Azure, Amazon, Rackspace, HP and Google are in a heavy battle for business customers who want to move their key infrastructure to the cloud. All of the mentioned providers are growing their business at such a fast pace that it gets quite difficult to choose the best option for the future. If you don’t care so much about specific features but just want to know who offers the best overall performance you should read on.

For their annual report, the cloud storage company Nasuni ran a bunch of tests, comparing Amazon S3 and Azure against providers like Google, Rackspace, and HP in key performance areas. You can download the 16-pages report from Nasuni just to find out that Microsoft Azure comes out as the best performer in several categories.

As you can see, Microsoft Azure won over Amazon, Rackspace, HP and Google in key areas. Although data is from 2013 the picture shouldn’t have changed significantly in the meanwhile as Microsoft keeps investing heavily into Azure as it is maybe CEO Satya Nadella’s most strategic products for the future. Nadella mentions Azure whenever possible and is much less consumer-oriented than Ex-CEO Steve Ballmer.
