Microsoft Releases Windows 10 14393.693 for Mobile and PC

Windows 10 14393.693 is a cumulative release for the Anniversary Update and is a Patch Tuesday release. It is available to all Windows 10 users on PC and mobile.

has rolled out its latest cumulative Anniversary Update release to all users. build 14393.693 is an update that is available on Windows 10 Mobile and PCs. The release is part of and comes after the build follows 14393.594, which passed by the Release Preview Ring for Insiders last week.

While Microsoft is prepping Windows 10 Creators Update on the inside, the company is also maintaining earlier Windows 10 builds. That includes the Anniversary Update, which was the last feature upgrade in August, 2016.

Windows 10 build 14393.693 is a patch for the Anniversary Update. As is usually the case with Patch Tuesday, the focuses on security fixes and stamping on bugs. It seems Microsoft has conducted a complete roll out as we hear the update is available for all phones and PCs.

As is usually the case with cumulative releases, the changelog is extensive and covers both PC and mobile.

  • Improved the reliability of Groove Music playback in the background, App-V, video playback and Remote Desktop.
  • Addressed issue where after successful fingerprint authentication on a device with the screen off, the screen does not turn back on.

  • Addressed issue that prevents a smart card module from pairing with a contactless smart card reader.
  • Addressed issue with license conversion of Server Core from evaluation version to a retail version.
  • Addressed issue that prevents users from opening Internet shortcut (.URL) files with Internet Explorer when Enhanced Protected Mode is enabled.
  • Addressed issue that prevents users from logging on if a device has been away from the corporate network over a period of time.
  • Addressed additional issues with Microsoft Edge, clustering, Internet Explorer, Windows Update, input devices, facial recognition, Logon, Hyper-V, PCI bus drivers and Windows Kernel.
