announced the Creators Update back in October, revealing it will arrive in early 2017. However, since then the company has been rolling out early preview builds for the upgrade. At the launch event, Microsoft discussed many features about the Creators Update, such as Paint 3D. Now the company is detailing some of the enterprise-oriented features coming soon to Windows 10.

In an official blog post, Microsoft says the “Windows 10 Creators Update will deliver new features and capabilities for modern IT and bring even more security advancements to our enterprise customers as IT administrators drive digital transformation to optimize operations, enhance productivity and maintain the most secure environment possible.”

Among the new features, the Windows 10 Creators Update will include mobile application management (MAM) abilities. This will run on Windows 10 devices that are used by customers of Azure Active Directory (AAD). MAM and mobile-device management (MDM) services can be integrated with this new solutions.

“As employees use their own devices at work more and more, we are providing IT with oversight to apply policies to the applications employees use to be productive. Helping to make update processes easier, Windows 10 Creators Update will deploy differential downloads. With this implementation, customers can download smaller file sizes by only pulling in differentials. Microsoft says it is aiming to reduce updates by 90% smaller through System Center Configuration Manager software.

Lefferts also discussed a new tool that will make enabling UEFI on older BIOS devices easier. At the moment this can result in the customer having to enable UEFI manually. Microsoft's new tool will automate the process across multiple devices.

Advanced Threat Protection will also be enhanced in the Creators Update. Microsoft will make it better at detecting and dealing with threats.

Admins will be able to “isolate machines, collect forensics, kill and clean running processes and quarantine or block files with a single click in the Center and further reduce response time,” Lefferts writes.
